Da Bears
The best bear protection you can own is a pair of running shoes and a .22 pistol. When you see a bear, you stop and put on the running shoes. When the bear charges, you shoot your buddy in the knee with the .22 and then run like hell!!!

Carbon Fiber
Going through some old links, a while ago I had found this carbon fiber sword (made by Warren Thomas). I am not a terribly big fan of swords. I own zero of them. This is a piece of art. I am sure it cuts like crap, but it looks absolutely amazing. I saved the link because I was always curious if I could incorporate it into some design....

His hand knives are pretty neat too. A bit on the expensive side.

Description:
This sword features a blade constructed with a titanium core. Both sides of the core are laminated with carbon fiber to decrease weight and increase speed while maintaining superior strength. The tsuba is solid carbon fiber, the handle is a resin-soaked wrap over black ray skin and the saya is made from Ash.

Missile Silo Homes
I am fascinated at what they turned these silos into. That would be such a cool house. The only down side is that it would be freezing inside. You would have tons of room though.

Autopilot engaged
Video Description:
I can picture some guy who watched this as a child stating "D*it, where's my hovering auto-piloted car?"
An excerpt from the 1958 Disneyland TV Show episode entitled Magic Highway USA. In this last part of the show, an exploration into possible future Transportation technologies is made. It's hard to believe how little we've accomplished on this front since 1958, and how limited the scope for imagining such future technologies has become. Witness an artifact from a time where the future was greeted with optimism. Note the striking animation style here, achieved with fairly limited animation and spectacular layoutsIts pretty interesting to see how people envisioned the future in 1958. While we do have some of the things outlined in the video, the technology is nowhere near that in the video. We do have rear view cameras, GPS, highways, expressways...
