Another great quote

Perfect practice makes perfection. Crap practice makes you a crap master.

Death valley

Traveled through death valley yesterday afternoon. It was absolutely amazing. The terrain was alien like, as the terrain varied so much across the valley with an amazing number of earth tones.

Flying across the desert over those whoopties with the sun on my back was a blast. I need to go back and see the vista points and museum.

Where I am

http://www.frontsight.com/courses/defensive-handgun-training-course.asp

Should be pretty interesting.

Easter

First time posting pictures through my phone. This is a picture of Nathan goofing around on Easter. He didn't understand the concept of collecting eggs in the basket. He put one in and take another one out. That bag is just wrong. He borrowed it from his cousin.

Update: Posting pictures through the phone failed. Had to manually put the picture in. Ol'well.

Man rules

http://mobile.associatedcontent.com/article/2870820/tiki_barber_has_affair_leaves_pregnant.html
Any guy who leaves his pregnant wife for another woman is a scum bag.
There isn't a suitable derogatory term for a man that leaves a woman
pregnant with twins. That's just my opinion.

Random thought: Limited warranty

A pogo stick should come with a one day warranty. I have never seen a
kid use a pogo stick after the first day. My pogo stick theory:
anything impractical has a limited novelty period. Now I need a proof
theorem.

The Rok

A couple of nights ago was my sister's 19th birthday. She is getting Old....haha.

She asked if we could eat at the Rok in Sunnyvale. I asked what was the deal about the restaurant. I am told you cook your food on a rock.  My idea of going out to eat, is that I don't have to cook or do dishes. If I have to do either then I would rather stay at home.   That includes hot pot city, or do-it-yourself korean BBQ (that have the little BBQ in the center of the table).  The food was surprisingly good, and I enjoyed myself, even though I had to cook it.  At least we didn't have to wash our rock off.

Great Quotes

Tonight in machining class the instructor is demoing a mill and says
"This is industrial, if chimpanzees could do this, they would, but they can't."

That is such a great line that it should be used in a monologue.  I can see it in a action movie where the techno guy is explaining some gadgetry to the main character.  I can see it in a comedy where chimp could be doing whatever is being described in the background.

Don't warn by flashing your lights.

San Jose Mercury News, April 1st, 2010.

Q Do you remember the column you wrote a couple of years ago about the guy who flashed his high beams to warn oncoming drivers of a CHP officer doing radar enforcement ahead on Highway 17? We here in Dublin have a big problem with that on Vasco Road and Highway 84. I wish we could get the word out that these people are doing themselves a disservice by doing this and potentially warning an escaped felon or child kidnapper or the like of our presence. Routine traffic stops have proven to be the steppingstone for far-reaching criminal investigations.

Dave-the-Dublin-CHP-Man

A The word is now out.

What?!? OK, Dave....how many escaped felons or child kidnappers are you dealing with in your typical day. Why not list other potentially bad people, like bank robbers, rapists, serial killers, peeping toms, the republican guard, ninjas, and Darth Vader. Dave, you are a butthead.

Joke of the day

After his barn bumed down, a wily Scots farmer put in an insurance claim. The agent who came around to inspect the damage and settle the claim tried to sell the farmer some more insurance.
" Are you covered against cattle theft ? And what about floods ? "
" Floods, eh ? " said the farmer. " That's very interesting. How do you set about starting a flood ? "
