Places you have never heard of

After looking at a craigslist ad, I was curious of where Kaimuki,HI was located. Like most small cities, I never heard of, I had no clue where they are located. Using google maps I found it to be like San Jose, on Oahu.

Zoom in.
That is really crowded. Why would someone want to live in such a condensed area on Hawaii?

Bike to work day

Saw this guy on his way to work. He was struggling going down central expressway. A unicycle is for entertainment purposes only. I don't think it is really a form of transportation. If it was, we would see it used in the Tour de France.

Balding with long hair

Am I the only one who feels a little sad when they see someone with long hair going bald. Not sure if anyone else has that same feelings. I am thinking about starting a non-profit organization where people can donate pubes, back hair or belly button hair for transplants. I know I have hair that I don't want.

Just throwing that idea out there.

Here are some famous people with long hair who are going bald. And it really isn't working for them either.

Side note: The last one is Steven Wright. Some good clips link

Indians in American Cinema.....?

I thought it was time to take some pride in India. I started to think of the great Indian actors in American cinema (I am not following the bollywood scene).

The first one that comes to mind... the movie Gandhi.

But wait. That was played by BEn Kingsley... this guy:

Then there was Ben Jabituya, in the movie Short Circuit. Absolutely hilarious.

But a few years ago. I found out that guy was really Fisher Stevens... this guy.

What about Apu, from the Simpsons?

Nope. Thats Hank Azaria....

So, are there any Indian actors in American Cinema? This kind of reminds me of black face in the mid 19th century. Although, nobody is saying anything. Personally, I think its kind of funny. And really shows that Indians are lousy at acting.

Time to upgrade

My birthday is coming up. Need to talk to Melissa about swapping my Nissan for something like this:

The Nissan is reliable, but the suspension and frame is crap. This would be fun to drive around every day.

pickup... check, diesel... check... offroad....yep. I'll take it. Forget the armor, I don't expect anyone to be shooting at me anytime soon.

I hate the dentist and their posse

The title sums it up. I was talking to Melissa the other day. There are a bunch of sleazy dentists out there. And their sleaze ball practices parallels dirty automotive mechanics. What do all mechanics offer.... free 8 billion point inspection. The purpose is that they hope to find something wrong with the vehicle and they will make an estimate on the repair. Similarly, a dentist always insists on doing x-rays every visit. Why.... same reason. I went to one dentist who used this laser beam, he would shine it on one tooth at a time and a number would come up. Based on the number he could tell how good the tooth was going. Well after shining this friggin laser beam on my teeth he said I need 4 fillings. I decided I needed a second opinion. The next dentist had never heard of this laser beam and proceeded to tell me my teeth were fine. The next dentist told me I have one cavity that needs to be filled before it gets too bad. Two years later, no filling and no cavity. My sister went to a dentist that told her she had 13 cavities, next dentist... no cavities.

In my mind, the big difference between a mechanic and a dentists is a mechanic will rip you off, but won't cause excruciating pain. A dentist has a bigger advantage, in that you don't take your car to the mechanic unless your car has problems. But you are requested to visit the dentist every 6 months. I don't trust dentists, nor do I trust their dental assistants. Curiously, I looked up the education requirements for a dental assistant. None. That explains why every dental assistant I have had is horrible.
Dental Assistant - "Sorry for stabbing your gums with my sharp metal spike....oh, sorry...sorry...sorry"
Me - "Hey, how about we stick to one cup of coffee, and try to concentrate a little more"
A dental assistant is a want-to-be nurse. Their job sucks, they suck at it, and they know it. And they punish everyone by slowly torturing them.
