Debbie Downer

Thom Yorke - Hearing Damage

I have posted this song before, but it has more meaning over the last 10 months.

"They wanna push you off the path
With their frequency wires
[...]
They say you’re getting better
But you don’t feel any better
[...]
You wish you felt better
You wish you felt better
[...]

You can do no wrong
In my eyes"

Reminds me of the call when my father was on life support and the paramedics indicated they had a heart beat. At that point there seemed to be hope. Wish you felt better.

We all have our faults but love seems to cover up those faults.

I find it amazing how sometimes we find our world very connected, and we quote "small world", this small rock flying through the universe. In our world a small task can seem like a mountain. Our perception of time seems like an eternity when we are young, and a second when we are old. With 4 billion people, there are very few people that are influential in your life, and when you lose 1 of those few people it feels like you are drifting a million light years away from Earth.

This poster hangs in my office, dated with the album release July 8th. The cover depicts King Canute failing to command the ocean. A reminder that we need to learn to accept the things we have no control over.

Tommy's House

Half baked Tommy made this a 5/10 idea to a 10/10 idea.

See all 3 parts, including where Tommy meets Beck. How cool is that!

Topics for thought

I was fascinated by this video (in fact, I am addicted to the whole series of various stories), but thought I would post a link to this one in particular.

Here is a man who has unlocked either a new way to do mathmatics or has reprogrammed his brain to act as an ALU. When can we get an auxillary ALU attached to our cortex or attached a storage and storage device to our brains for storing and recalling information?

Remembering Bill Hicks

Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration—that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather. - Bill Hicks
